Recently, my son and I were in our van leaving the parking lot of the grocery store after a particularly trying excursion, and we had the following exchange:

Son: “We go to the toy store now?

Me: “Why do you want to go to the toy store?

Son: “I want to buy a man.”

Apparently the new generation has taken nothing away from the life lessons we learned from Jackie Gleason and Richard Pryor.
